So many thoughts that I have tripped on

And somehow never circled back

So many places where I meant to pause

Instead I’ve fallen through the cracks

So many plans I haven’t followed through

Some may never be completed

Starting one task

Getting side tracked

Til I am dizzy

And depleted

To-dos stack one upon the other

A tower leaning, to and fro

They teeter

And they totter

Somehow continuing to grow

I move the piles out of eyesight

But they are always on my mind

Ignorance isn’t always bliss

They’re always creeping up behind

And when I have a burst of energy

Motivation

And some time

It’s amazing what I can accomplish

Like a mountain that I climb

And then I’m left with satisfaction

Pride

And such relief

Like the breath that I’ve been holding

Has finally released

So I ride the waves of triumph

There are highs

And there are lows

Trying not to sink too deep

Embrace the river

As it flows
